Biography

Amanda was born in Daytona Beach, FL and is of Puerto Rican descent. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a B.S. in Physics, specializing in astronomy, with minors in mathematics and music. She worked as a research assistant under Dr. Joris Verbiest at the Florida Space Institute, where she studied pulsar timing, before beginning her Ph.D. at the University of Florida.
